STARTING PAY: $18.69 hourly EEOC CODE: Professional FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
SHIFT: Fulltime; Monday thru Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in social, behavioral or human services or is a registered nurse. (Social, behavioral, and human services are: psychology; social work; medicine; nursing; rehabilitation; counseling; sociology; human development; physician's assistant; gerontology; education psychology; special education; early childhood intervention; or early childhood education.)
Preferred: At least six months experience in providing mental health services to adults, children and adolescents; work experience within jail setting.
DEGREE AND/OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED: BA/BS in field specified above or licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
JOB PURPOSE:
This position will provide intensive case management services to offenders with severe and persistent mental illness who are on adult criminal justice supervision (probation or parole) within our service area with the goal of reducing recidivism and successful completion of probation or parole through management of mental health related problems. Services will be provided in the community, clinic, and will include at least one monthly contact with the assigned supervising officer. Is responsible for completing assessments, recovery planning, and effective coordination of appropriate community services. Works closely with the criminal justice system and acts as liaison between offenders and supervising officer. Requires travel within the service counties. Meets multiple deadlines and reporting requirements.
