JOB TITLE: I.T. Technician

JOB PURPOSE: Serves as primary Help Desk contact for technical assistance for end users in the organization. Provides technical support and guidance assisting users with computer and general software needs. Performs maintenance of computers and networked computer equipment so that providers and staff have reliable equipment and receive technical support in a timely manner. Provides day to day tracking of all I.T. related and networked equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES: (1) Troubleshoots hardware, software and user related computer errors as well as low level network performance and connectivity issues to limit user downtime. Determines and recommends solutions to alleviate any user related computer issues and concerns. (2) Sets up and maintains computer workstations. Installs and maintains operating systems, software and user profiles including related peripherals. Will perform computer installations, repairs, rebuilds and updates. (3) Performs routine checks and maintains a log of server specs. Reports, researches and acts on errors to prevent system failures. (4) Maintains routine backup solutions. Reports, researches and acts on errors to prevent system failures. (5) Will maintain inventory tracking system in conjunction with finance department. Will log, label and engrave as appropriate all computer and I.T. related equipment. (6) Troubleshoots basic network performance and connectivity issues related to computers and computer related equipment and peripherals. (7) Performs routine checks of malware, antivirus software solution to ensure proper enterprise-wide protection. (8) Facilitates the enterprises use of data encryption on computing and data storage devices. (9) Facilitates user's access to the enterprises MS AD domain security as per the enterprises access control protocols. (10) Provisions user's access to the enterprises VOIP phone system. (11) Ensures and advocates HIPAA compliance and data security policy and procedures. Will monitor system status logs for all Information Services and networked equipment. (12) Performs other related work as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, and COMPETENCY: Must have excellent customer service skills in always putting the customer first. Ability to handle emergency situations in a calm and directed fashion, and lead teams in such situations as needed. Must possess exceptional problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve project issues and challenges. Strong attention to detail and deadline orientated. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills. Must be accustomed to working on various issues simultaneously and ensuring the integrity of each project. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have computer experience to include, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Must have good organizational skills to achieve multiple deadlines.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Required: High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency with demonstrated 4 years of hands-on experience with maintenance of PC based computers and MS Windows based operating systems. At least 2 years of training or experience in Local and Wide Area networking. Technical trade school education/experience and education may be substituted for one another.
